Rear Door Window Motor: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove the rear locking compartment.
2. Disconnect the 6P connector from the rear window defogger sub-harness.

Rear Window Motor Test:




3. Test the motor by connecting battery power to the No. 6 terminal, and ground to the No. 4 terminal. Test the motor in the opposite direction by switching the leads.
^ If the motor does not run, go to step 5.
4. Remove the rear window panel assembly.
5. Disconnect the 2P connector from the rear window defogger sub-harness.

Rear Window Motor Test:




6. Test the motor by connecting battery power to the No. 1 terminal, and ground to the No. 2 terminal. Test the motor in the opposite direction by switching the leads.
^ If the motor does not run, replace it.
^ If the motor runs, check for an open in the RED/YEL and RED/BLU wires.
