Diagnosis: Overview
DIAGNOSISRefer to this illustration for correct part names.
These conditions are not considered leaks:
^ Water running off the roof drips inside when you open the door or roll down the window.
NOTE:
The later design "A" pillar seal has built-in diverters to reduce this effect but, under certain conditions, some water may still drip inside the car.
^ After you close the door, one or two drops of water fall from the "drip rail" on the "A" pillar seal.
^ Condensation forms on the glass, between the inner and outer sealing surfaces of the "B" pillar seal or roof side seals.
^ Water under high pressure leaks past a seal. The seals cannot remain watertight under pressures that distort their installed shape.
Water entering from around the roof is considered a leak if it occurs with the car in any of these situations:
^ Sitting in the rain
^ Being driven in the rain
^ Being washed with a free-flowing hose
You can stop these leaks if you diagnose the problem and make repairs exactly as described in this bulletin.
