Transmission Shift Position Indicator Lamp: Locations

When the ignition switch is in ON (II) or START (III), battery voltage is applied to the A/T gear position indicator through fuse 15. The A/T gear position switch provides a ground for each shift lever position. As an input is grounded, its indicator light comes on.

When the headlight switch is in PARK or HEAD, voltage is applied through the RED/BLK wire to the dimming circuit in the A/T gear position indicator. The illumination intensity is varied by the dash lights brightness controller through the RED return wire.
