Fuel Supply System

PURPOSE
The fuel supply system consists of a fuel tank, in-tank high pressure fuel pump, main relay, fuel filter, pressure regulator, injectors and injector resistor. This system delivers pressure regulated fuel to the injectors and cuts fuel delivery when the engine is not running.

OPERATION
The fuel tank houses the fuel pump and, of course, stores the fuel. The fuel pump delivers pressurized fuel to the engine compartment fuel components. The fuel pressure regulator maintains a constant fuel pressure to the injectors. The injectors, electronically controlled by the Programmed Fuel Injection Electronic Control Module (PGM-FI ECM), sprays atomized fuel into the intake air stream as it enters the engine.
