Electronic Component Replacement
1. Before servicing electronic components, disconnect the battery ground.
NOTE: Before removing battery ground, access trouble codes. Programmed Fuel Injection Electronic Control Module (PGM-FI ECM) memory will be erased if ground cable is removed. Removing the battery cables also cancels the radio presets and the clock settings. Make a note of the radio presets before removing the cables so you can reset them. The radio may have a coded anti-theft circuit. Be sure you get the customer's code number before removing the battery cables.
2. Fuel and Engine Control System wiring should be at least 4 inches away from ignition wires.
