Battery Precautions
^ Never use a booster/starter which has a voltage rating above 12 volts to start engine.^ Always ensure the battery is properly connected to the vehicle prior to attempting to start engine.
^ Don't disconnect the battery when the engine is running.
^ When charging a battery, be sure battery cables are disconnected.
^ The battery contains acid and produces explosive gas (hydrogen). Avoid creating sparks near battery.
NOTE: Before removing battery cables, access trouble codes. Programmed Fuel Injection Electronic Control Module (PGM-FI ECM) memory will be erased if battery cable is removed. Removing the battery cables also cancels the radio presets and the clock settings. Make a note of the radio presets before removing the cables so you can reset them. The radio may have a coded anti-theft circuit. Be sure you get the customer's code number before removing the battery cables.
