Cranking Signal: Description and Operation

Starter Switch Signal:

PURPOSE

The 12 volt signal informs the control module the engine is being started. The Engine Control Module (ECM) uses the starter signal for timing and fuel control at engine start-up.

OPERATION

The starter signal is generated by the ignition switch whenever it is in the start position.
