Distributor Cap: Description and Operation

PURPOSE

The Distributor Cap serves three functions in this model.

^ It protects the TDC/CKP/CYP Sensor from environmental elements and physical damage.
^ It secures the position of and provides the electrical contacts for the Ignition Cables for each cylinder and the Ignition Coil.
^ It provides the connection between the Ignition Coil output terminal and the center contact of the Rotor, traditionally the job of the Coil Wire.
