Water Leak at Del Sol Antenna

SYMPTOM

Water leaking into the trunk through the antenna mounting hole.

PROBABLE CAUSE

Antenna gasket not sealing tightly to the body.

CORRECTIVE ACTION





1. Inspect the antenna mast, and if necessary, reposition it.





2. Tighten the antenna nut to 20 lb.in. (2.3 N-m, 0.23 kg-m) with a lb.in. torque wrench, crowfoot attachment, and antenna nut wrench.

3. Run water around the antenna base to confirm that the leak has been repaired.

4. Reinstall the trunk panel.

Out of warranty: Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
