Variable Induction Control Solenoid: Description and Operation
Intake Air Bypass Control System:
PURPOSE
Determines which path incoming air will follow. Two air intake paths are provided in the intake manifold to allow the selection of the intake path most favorable for a given engine speed.
LOCATION
Found at front of engine, next to intake manifold
OPERATION
Satisfactory power performance is achieved by closing and opening the bypass valves. High torque at low rpm is achieved when the valves are closed, whereas high power at high rpm (above 4,700 rpm) is achieved by opening the bypass valves.
