Removal and Installation

SRS Main Harness Connector Location:




CAUTION:
- All SRS electrical wiring harnesses are covered with yellow outer insulation.
- Before disconnecting the SRS wire harness, install the short connector(s) on the airbag(s) (see page 23-294).
- Replace the entire affected SRS harness assembly if it has an open circuit or damaged wiring.


NOTE: The radio may have a coded theft protection circuit. Be sure to get the customer's code number before:
- Disconnecting the battery.
- Removing the No. 43 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box.
- Removing the radio.

After service, reconnect power to the radio and turn it on. When the word "CODE" is displayed, enter the customer's 5-digit code to restore radio operation.

NOTE: The blower motor, recirculation control motor, and blower resistor can be replaced without removing the blower unit. Overhaul





WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING
1. Remove the glove box and glove box frame, refer to Service and Repair/Glove Box.
2. Remove the four self-tapping screws and the heater duct.
3. Disconnect the connectors from the blower motor, blower resistor, and recirculation control motor.
4. Remove the two bolts, nut and blower unit.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal, and make sure there are no air leaks.




WITH AIR CONDITIONING
1. Remove the glove box and glove box frame, refer to Service and Repair/Glove Box.
2. Remove the evaporator, refer to Heating and Air Conditioning/Evaporator Core/Service and Repair.
3. Disconnect the connectors from the blower motor, blower resistor, and recirculation control motor.




4. Remove the two bolts, nut and blower unit.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal, and make sure there are no air leaks.
