Engine Control System

Check Engine Light blinks once:

A problem in the Heated Oxygen (H02S) Sensor Circuit.

DTC 1: Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S):

The oxygen sensor, detects the oxygen content in the exhaust gas, and inputs the ECU. In operation, the ECU receives the signals from the sensor and varies the duration during which fuel is injected. The oxygen sensors are installed on the exhaust manifold. The oxygen sensor has a built in heater to allow a faster warm up and switch to closed loop operation.

The Check Engine warning light may come on, indicating a system problem, when, in fact, there is a poor or intermittent electrical connection. First, check the electrical connections, clean or repair connections if necessary.
