Installation

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Use only Super High Temperature Grease (P/N 08798 - 9002).




1. Install the dowel pins.




2. Apply grease to the parts as shown.




3. Install the release fork boot.
4. Place the transmission on the transmission jack and raise it to the engine level.
5. Install the transmission mounting bolts and rear mounting bolts.




6. Install the four upper transmission mounting bolts.




7. Raise the transmission, then install the transmission side mount.




8. Install the front stopper bracket.
9. Install the splash guard.




10. Remove the chain hoist, then reinstall the distributor mounting bolt.




11. Install the clutch cover and the engine stiffeners.




12. Install the change rod, spring pin, and clip.

NOTE:
- Install the clip as shown.
- Turn the boot so the hole is facing down.
- Make sure the boot is installed on the change rod.

13. Install the change extension.




14. Install exhaust pipe A.




15. Install the driveshafts.

NOTE: Replace the set rings with new ones.

16. Install the ball joint onto the lower arm.
17. Install the damper fork.




18. Install the slave cylinder, then install the clutch pipe stay.




19. Connect the vehicle speed sensor (VSS), back-up light switch connectors, transmission ground wire, and stater cables.

NOTE: When installing the starter cable, make sure that the crimped side of the ring terminal is facing out.

20. Install the wire harness clamp.




21. Install the resonator, air cleaner assembly, and intake air duct.
22. Refill the transmission with oil.
23. Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) cables to the battery.
24. Check the clutch operation.
25. Shift the transmission and check for smooth operation.
26. Adjust ignition timing.
