Fuel Tank Pressure Release Valve: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove filler cap.
2. Remove vapor line from fuel tank on 1983-86 Prelude and 1984-86 Civic, or from liquid/vapor separator on other vehicles. Connect to T-fitting from suitable vacuum gauge and vacuum pump.
3. Slowly draw a vacuum while observing gauge. Vacuum should stabilize at .2-.6 inch Hg.
4. If vacuum does not stabilize within specifications, replace valve and repeat test.
5. Slowly pressurize vapor line while observing gauge. Pressure should stabilize at 1-2.2 inch Hg.
6. If pressure does not stabilize within specifications, replace valve and repeat test.
