CRX Rear Spoiler Noise

SYMPTOM

The spoiler clunks when you push or pull on it.

PROBLEM

Gap between the mount pad on the hatch and the left support post on the spoiler.

Rear Trim Panel:

CORRECTIVE ACTION

1. Remove the spoiler:

^ Remove the rear trim panel from inside the hatch (4 plastic clips and 4 screws under plastic caps).

^ Remove the 6 mm bolt holding the right support post.

Spoiler:

^ Slide the spoiler off to the right.

Rubber Pads:

2. Sand the bottom of the left support post with 400 grit paper, then clean it with alcohol.

3. Peel the paper and glue strips off the rubber pads.

Spoiler Post:

4. Glue the pads to the bottom of the left spoiler post with Honda Weatherstrip Cement (H/C 1724426).

5. Allow time for the weatherstrip cement to dry, then reinstall the spoiler.
