Inspect
- For inspection and overhaul procedures, refer to the Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case Unit Repair Manual.

NOTICE: Transaxle fluid cooler flushing must be performed when a transaxle is removed for service. The flushing procedure should be performed after the installation of the overhauled or replacement assembly. Failure to flush the system may cause damage to the system and its components.

Important
- Before installing the transaxle assembly, these steps and precautions must be followed:
- Apply grease around the cup at the center of the torque converter. This will ensure ease of assembly.

- Measure the distance (A) shown in the image. The distance should be more than 21.4 mm (0.85 inch). If it is less than 21.4 mm (0.85 inch), the torque converter is improperly installed. Remove the torque converter and make sure to properly seat the torque converter onto the input shaft.
