Intermediate Servo

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

^ Tool Required:
- J 35534 Piston Cover Depressor

1. Intermediate band cover and gasket.





Measure
- Scribe a mark on the piston rod as shown in the image.





- Apply compressed air into the case passage as shown in the image.





- Measure the length of the piston rod stroke with a vernier caliper. The specification is 1.5 to 3.0 mm (0.06 to 0.11 inch). If the measurement is out of specification, replace the piston rod with one of a different length or replace the intermediate band. The piston rod is available in two (2) different lengths. These two sizes may be identified by measurement or by a mark on the piston rod.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Install a J 35534.





2. Tighten the J 35534 adjustment bolt until the servo cover snap ring can be removed.
3. Servo cover snap ring.
4. The J 35534.





5. Servo cover.
6. Servo piston.
7. Piston spring.
8. Piston rod.
9. Piston rod spring.
10. Piston rod washer.

Inspect
- All seals for cuts or damage.
- Servo piston and servo cover for cracks, scarring or damage.
- Springs for weakness. cracks or damage.
