Valve Body Disassembly

NOTICE: There are four steel check balls (check valves) in the upper half of the valve body. When separating the valve body halves, do so with the upper half facing downward in order not to displace the four check balls. When reassembling, these check balls MUST be positioned in their correct passages. If this precaution is not observed transaxle shift failure may result.

NOTICE: When disassembling the valve body halves, keep all valve springs, keys, washers, with their respective valves. Most valve springs are of different sizes and CANNOT be interchanged. Make sure all parts are clean and dry before reassembly.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Sixteen (16) upper valve body bolts.
2. Lower valve body from upper valve body with upper valve body on bottom and lower valve body on top.
3. Spacer plate and gaskets.
