General Motors has decided that some 1996 Chevrolet/Geo Metro Sedan and Coupe vehicles equipped with 1.0L and 1.3L engines, were built with an incorrect emission label. The label schematic incorrectly identifies the vacuum hose routing.

To correct this condition, it will be necessary to install a new emission label on the underside of the hood. Since a new label can be easily installed, and to reduce owner inconvenience, the label will be sent with instructions directly to owners of record. Owners may install the label on the underside of the hood. However, if they desire, they may bring the label to their servicing Chevrolet/Geo dealer for installation at no charge.
