P0753
Shift Solenoid #1 Electrical:
Shift Solenoid #1 Electrical:
Circuit Description:
The direct clutch solenoid is energized and de-energized by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in response to varying transaxle shift demands. With the direct clutch solenoid de-energized, line pressure is applied to the 2-3 shift valve. With line pressure applied, the 2-3 shift valve operates, and the transaxle shifts from second to third gear. When the PCM energizes the direct clutch solenoid, line pressure is relieved, and the 2-3 shift valve does not operate.
DTC Detecting Condition:
DTC P0753 will set if the following condition is met: PCM does not see any voltage drop across direct clutch solenoid control circuit during attempted solenoid energizing.
DTC Chart Test Description
Numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.
1. Checks for proper resistance values.
2. Checks for a short to ground in GRN wire.
3. Checks for an open in ORN wire.
4. Checks the condition of the transaxle internal electrical harness for damage.
5. Checks for a short to voltage in ORN wire.
6. Checks for a poor electrical connection that may have caused DTC to set.
7. Checks for a faulty PCM.
Diagnostic Aids:
An intermittent may be caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation or a wire broken inside the insulation. Inspect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) harness connectors for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals and for poor terminal-to-wire connections.
