DISABLING THE SIR SYSTEM






REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
^ Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
^ Remove the key from the ignition switch.
1. AIR BAG-IG Fuse from the Airbag Fuse Box, located near the base of the steering column.
2. The steering wheel side cap, Connector Position Assurance (CPA) and the driver inflator module connector.
^ Pull the I/P compartment out while pushing the RH and LH stoppers in.
3. The CPA and the yellow 4-way connector for the Passenger inflator module.

IMPORTANT
^ With the AIR BAG-IG Fuse removed and the ignition switch in the "ON" position, the AIR BAG warning lamp illuminates. This is normal operation and does not indicate a SIR system malfunction.
