Shift Linkage: Adjustments

Fig. 2 Positioning Gearshift Control Lever:

Check gear shift control lever vertical endplay. Vertical endplay should be 0 to .007 inch. Check distance between instrument panel and gear shift control lever, with transaxle in neutral, Fig. 2 . Distance should be approximately 8.5 inches, if not adjust.
