Transaxle Control System

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Whenever the Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch is in a drive range ("R," "D," "2" or "L"), the Transmission Control Module (TCM) informs the ECM by applying an ignition voltage signal to the ECM on the RD2L signal circuit. No voltage is applied when the park/ neutral position (PNP) switch is in either "N" or "P."

DTC 25 will set if the following condition is met:
^ The TCM sees a voltage drop to something approaching 0V on RD2L signal circuit while providing ECM with RD2L signal.

TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Checks for a faulty ECM.
2. Checks for a short to ground in BRN/WHT wire or for a faulty TCM.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
An intermittent may be caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation or a wire broken inside the insulation. Inspect the TCM hamess connectors for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals and for poor terminal-to-wire connections.
