GEO METRO A/T CONTROLLER TERMINAL CHECKS
The GEO Metro uses the same MX17 automatic transaxle that the Chevrolet Sprint does but the computer control systems are quite different. The diagnostic charts showing controller pin locations and functions for the Sprint will not work for the Metro.
Figure 1 shows the controller connector configuration, shown with the harness plugged into the controller, looking at the connector side where the wires enter.
Note
The transmission controller is located Just left of center under the dash.
The charts illustrate what voltages, resistances or frequencies should be observed at the terminals. (If the tests require the controller harness to be disconnected, turn the ignition off first).
