Passenger Compartment Sensor

1. Deactivate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove CPA and disconnect sensor electrical connector, below instrument panel, on right side of steering column.
4. Remove two mounting bolts, then remove sensor.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install sensor with arrow pointing toward front of vehicle.
b. Torque mounting bolts to 53 inch lbs.
c. Following installation, activate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ACTIVATION.
d. Turn ignition switch to the On position and verify the ``Inflatable Restraint'' indicator flashes 7 to 9 times then turns Off. If indicator does not respond, refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING PROCEDURE/TESTING PROCEDURES/RETRIEVING TROUBLE CODES.
