FILE: SERVICE:
GROUP 00 OF SERVICE INFORMATION BINDER

Campaign No. 2011050005, September 2011

TO: ALL MERCEDES-BENZ CENTERS

SUBJECT:
Model 906, Model Year 2011
Check Side Window Seal

This Service Campaign has been initiated because Daimler AG (DAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter vehicles, has determined that the side and rear windows, in the subject vehicles, have been sealed with an adhesive with an extended curing time. As a result the windows may have slipped during the curing process and slight leaks may occur. Dealers will check the side and rear windows and repair as necessary at the next workshop visit.

Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.

^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Approximately 104 vehicles are affected.

1. Check installation position of side and rear windows:

^ If there is no indication of sinking of the window or if there a protrusion of less than 2 mm, Procedure is complete.

^ If there is an indication of sinking (arrow, Figure 1) of the window or if there is a protrusion of more than 2 mm (arrow, Figure 2), proceed to step 2.

2. Remove affected window:

Note:
While we allowed claiming of up to 8 reseals per vehicle the anticipated replacement rate for window resealing is low. Ensure only windows which meet resealing criteria are repaired.

^ Remove affected side window; refer to WIS: AR67.30-D-2400H.
^ Remove affected rear window; refer to WIS: AR67.20-D-5145H.
Notes (regarding above WIS instructions):
^ Actual window replacement procedure may differ from WIS instructions due to differences in window removal kits.

^ Ensure at least one of the front windows is open when closing door after reinstalling a fixed window. Air pressure from a door closing with all windows closed may separate a recently reinstalled window from
adhesive (during curing).

^ Use locally sourced cartridge gun to apply adhesive.
