Recall - Replace Seat Belts Of Passenger Bench Seats: Overview

Model 906, Model Year 2008-2011
Replace Seat Belts of Passenger Bench Seats

Daimler AG (DAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter vehicles, has determined that incorrect seat belts may have been installed in the second seat row of the passenger compartment. Dealers must check the seat belts on both 3 passenger seat benches to ensure no
swapping took place in subsequent installations.

Refer affected Dodge vehicles to a Dodge Sprinter Dealer for this recall repair.

Prior to performing this Recall Campaign:

^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.

^ Please review the entire Recall Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Approximately 1,600 vehicles are involved.

Procedure





1. Check part number of seat belts (3, Figure 3) for 3-passenger bench seats at latch plates (1, Figure 1):

^ If the part number is A 906 860 22 85, the seat belt (3, Figure 3) does not need to be replaced. Procedure is complete.

^ If the part number is A 906 860 21 85, proceed to step 2.

2. Replace seat belt (3) refer to WIS: AR91.40-D-1030A.

Note (regarding above WIS instructions):

^ Be sure to replace star (lock) washer (arrow, Figure 3) when replacing seat belts.

^ Be careful to organize parts removed during disassembly to help ensure easier reassembly.

^ Do not replace seat belt buckles
