Recall - Three-Passenger Bench Seat IsoFix(LATCH) Brackets: Overview

Campaign No. 2011080003, September 2011

TO: ALL AUTHORIZED SPRINTER COMMERCIAL VEHICLE DEALERS

SUBJECT:
Model 906, Model Year 2011
Check IsoFix (LATCH) Bracket, Replace "Three Passenger" Bench Seat(s) If
Necessary

Daimler AG (DAG), the manufacturer of Freightliner and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles, has determined that on certain Sprinter vehicles, the IsoFix (LATCH) bracket may not have been welded properly on certain "three passenger" bench seats. As a result, a child restraint may not stay properly secured increasing the risk of injury during a crash. DVUSA therefore has initiated a recall of all potentially affected vehicles described above. An authorized Freightliner or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
dealer will remedy this condition by checking identification marks on the two "three passenger" bench seats and replacing the "three passenger" bench seat(s) if necessary.

Attached is a sample copy of a letter which owners of the affected vehicles will receive.

Prior to performing this Recall Campaign:

^ Please check VMI to insure the vehicle is involved and to determine if the vehicle has been previously repaired.

^ Please review the entire Recall Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Approximately 47 vehicles are involved.

Please be sure to perform all steps as indicated below:
