Wiper Motor - Description
DESCRIPTION
The rear wiper motors (2) are concealed within the rear doors (1), below the rear door glass and behind the rear door lower trim. The ends of the two motor output shafts that extend through the rear door outer panels to drive the rear wiper arms and blades are the only visible components of the rear wiper motors. A rubber grommet is engaged in the output shaft hole of each rear door and seals the output shaft where it passes through the outer door panel. The motor is secured by a screw through rubber isolators to the rear door.
Each single-speed permanent magnet rear wiper motor features an integral transmission, an integral rear wiper relay, an internal park switch and an internal automatic resetting circuit breaker. A unique rear washer hose fitting on the motor transmission housing delivers washer fluid from a hose inside the door to the washer nozzle on the rear wiper blade through another fitting on the motor output shaft on the outside of the door panel
The rear wiper motor cannot be adjusted or repaired. If any component of the motor is ineffective or damaged, the entire rear wiper motor unit must be replaced. The output shaft grommet seal is available for individual service replacement.
