Pinion Gear/Ring Gear - Removal
REMOVAL
1. Remove differential from housing.
2. Unlock collared nut.
3. Hold pinion flange with Flange Wrench C-3281 and remove nut.
4. Remove pinion flange (2) with Puller 8892 (1).
5. Remove pinion gear from housing with a dead-blow hammer.
6. Remove pinion shaft seal with a seal pick.
7. Remove front pinion bearing.
8. Remove front pinion bearing cup with Bearing Cup Remover D-148 and Universal Drive Handle C-4171.
9. Remove rear pinion bearing cup with Bearing Cup Remover D-162 and Universal Drive Handle C-4171.
10. Remove pinion depth shim from rear pinion bearing cup bore.
11. Remove collapsible spacer (1) from pinion shaft (2).
12. Remove spacer (1) from pinion shaft (2).

13. Remove rear bearing (1) from pinion shaft with Bearing Splitter 1130 (2) and an Arbor Press.
