Front Suspension Lower Ball Joint - Removal

REMOVAL





1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove the disc brake caliper adaptor bolts (3). Then remove the caliper assembly (4).






NOTE: Mark the strut on the knuckle with a scribe for installation.

4. Remove the front strut bolts (2) from the knuckle .
5. Remove the steering knuckle .





6. Remove the outer tie rod end (5) from the knuckle (3).
7. Separate the lower ball joint (2) from the knuckle (3) using Ball Joint Separator 9282.





8. Remove the lower ball joint (4) using Ball Joint Remover 10002 (2) and striking it to force the ball joint (4) outward from the lower control arm (3).
