Charge Air Cooler and Hoses - Removal






CHARGE AIR COOLER





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the AGM starter negative battery cable located inside the vehicle under the instrument panel near the accelerator pedal.
3. Drain the cooling system.Service and Repair
4. Remove the air box assembly. Air Cleaner - Removal
5. Remove the front bumper.
6. Remove the grille.
7. Remove the headlamp support panel located below the headlamps.
8. Remove the A/C condenser fan.
9. Remove the upper radiator air seal.
10. Remove the upper radiator hose at the radiator.
11. Remove the lower radiator air seals (4).
12. Remove the viscous fan assembly.Removal
13. Disconnect the charge air hoses at charge air cooler (1).
14. Remove the charge air cooler (1) to radiator bolt (3) located on the driver side of the vehicle.





15. Disengage the upper radiator retaining clips (1, 3).





16. Slightly tilt the radiator/condenser assembly (2) back towards the rear of the vehicle.

CAUTION: DO NOT crimp or bend lines.

17. Partially separate the A/C condenser (2) from the radiator by pushing the A/C condenser up.

NOTE: DO NOT completely remove the A/C condenser.

18. Remove the charge air cooler to radiator bolt (1) located on the passenger side of the vehicle.





19. Remove the charge air cooler (1) from the radiator assembly by pulling straight down.
