Engine Control Module - Installation
INSTALLATION
NOTE: If a replacement (new) Powertrain Control Module PCM is being installed, the scan tool must be used to program (flash) the new PCM with vehicle specific information.
NOTE: Any time a new PCM is installed, the injector quantity adjustment procedure, also called injector classification must be performed.
1. Position the PCM (1) into the guide of the retaining bracket.
2. Carefully push down on the PCM (1) to seat it into the bracket (2).
3. Connect the PCM harness connectors (3).
4. Connect negative battery cable.
5. Using the scan tool, perform the "ECU Auto Replacement", "Diesel Particulate Filter (New) Initialization", and "Engine ECU Replaced (Drive Authorization)" procedures.PCM/ECM/TCM Reprogramming
Vehicles Equipped With Dual Batteries

1. Position the PCM (1) into the guide of the retaining bracket.
2. Carefully push the PCM (1) in to the bracket (2).
3. Connect the PCM harness connectors (3).
4. Install the battery tray (2). Tighten lower nut (1) to 12 Nm (106 in. lbs.).
5. Install the front two bolts (1) and tighten to 12 Nm (106 in. lbs.).
6. Install the upper battery tray bolt and tighten to 12 Nm (106 in. lbs.).
7. Position the washer reservoir and install the bolts.
8. Install the under hood battery.
9. Connect the positive cable for under hood battery.
10. Connect both negative battery cable.
