Sunroof Switch - Operation
OPERATION
The sunroof switch is part of the Roof Control Module (RCM). The RCM is battery feed through a 25 Amp fuse from fuse box number 5. The sunroof system power is supplied when the ignition switch is in the RUN and ACCESSORY positions. The sunroof will operate normally with the key in any position while the Accessory Delay system is active.
The sunroof switch electrically operates the sunroof motor. The switch can be moved in four directions. Push, pull, slide forward and slide back/aft. The switch mimics the operation of the sunroof. To vent, push up the switch. To close pull down the switch, or slide switch forward. For express open, slide the switch back past the detent and release. This will vent the sunroof, then slides the glass back.
For complete circuit diagrams, refer to the appropriate wiring information. The wiring information includes wiring diagrams, proper wire and connector repair procedures, details of wire harness routing and retention, connector pin-out information and location views for the various wire harness connectors, splices and grounds.
The power sunroof switch cannot be repaired. If the individual components are damaged or inoperative the RCM must be replaced, .
NOTE: If the Roof Control Module (RCM) or any sunroof component is replaced, the sunroof has to be normalized. .
