9608-REAR BLOWER CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW

- When Monitored:
Whenever the HVAC module is awake.
- Set Condition:
When the Rear Blower Control circuit is shorted to ground.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
2. Turn the ignition on and wait 30 seconds.
3. Operate the HVAC system.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
2. REAR BLOWER CONTROL
1. Disconnect the Rear Blower harness connector.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs
3. Cycle the ignition from on to off three times.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. Operate the HVAC system.
6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
No
- Replace the Rear Blower.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
Yes
- Go To 3
3. REAR BLOWER CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the A/C Heater Control Module harness connector.
3. Measure the resistance between Ground and Rear Blower Control Signal circuit.
Does the Ohm meter read open circuit?
Yes
- Repair the Rear Blower Control Signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
No
- Replace the A/C Heater Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
