- When Monitored:
With the Programmable Special Module (PSM) is awake.
- Set Condition:
The Programmable Special Module (PSM) detects an invalid code or signal settings.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs
2. Turn the ignition on and activate the Speed Control.
3. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST Verification Tests.
2. INSPECT FOR AN OBJECT HOLDING CRUISE CONTROL PUSHBUTTON IN ACTUATED POSITION
1. Inspect the Cruise Control pushbutton for anything that would cause the Cruise Control pushbutton to stay actuated.
Is anything present that would cause the Cruise Control pushbutton to stay actuated?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST Verification Tests.
No
- Go To 3
3. CHECK CHANGE OF ENGINE SPEED SIGNAL SETTINGS
1. With the scan tool, check Change of Engine Speed signal settings.
Are the signal settings valid and the parameters set?
Yes
- Replace the Programmable Special Module (PSM).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST Verification Tests.
No
- Go To 4
4. PROGRAMMABLE SPECIAL MODULE
1. Using the scan tool, perform Programmable Special Module (PSM) Reset ECU and Load Coding for vehicle application.
2. Cycle the ignition on and off three times, turn the ignition on.
3. Activate the Speed Control.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Replace the Programmable Special Module (PSM).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST Verification Tests.
No
- Test Complete.
