Tire Pressure Module (TPM)






9230-MODEL VARIANT NOT ALLOWED

For a complete wiring diagram, Refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams.

- When Monitored:
Continuously with the ignition on, one valid or implausible message received at least once.

- Set Condition:
When the TPM Module detects incorrect sensor identifications from the TPM Sensor(s).





1. CHECK FOR DTC 9230-MODEL VARIANT NOT ALLOWED ACTIVE

NOTE: This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid.

1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs in the TPM.
3. Cycle the ignition switch from off to on.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs in the TPM.

Does the scan tool display: DTC 9230-MODEL VARIANT NOT ALLOWED?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Go To 3

2. TPM MODULE
1. With the scan tool, program the TPM Module with the correct sensor IDs and loactions.
2. Perform TPM VERIFICATION TEST. TPM Verification Test.
3. With the scan tool, read DTCs in the TPM.

Did DTC DTC 9230-MODEL VARIANT NOT ALLOWED reset?

Yes

- Replace the TPM Module.
- Perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST. TPM Verification Test.

No

- Test complete.

3. INTERMITTENT TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR DTC
1. The conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time.
2. Search for any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply to this condition.
3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs in the TPM Module.
4. Test Drive the vehicle for a minimum of 10 minutes with vehicle speed greater than 16 km/h (10 mph).
5. With the scan tool, read DTCs in the TPM Module.

Does the DTC reset or is the status Active for this DTC?

Yes

- Return to the beginning of this test and perform the diagnostic procedure as necessary.
- Perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST. TPM Verification Test.

No

- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time.
