9042-LEFT READING LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT STUCK

- When Monitored:
Continuously
- Set Condition:
When the Roof Control Module detects a stuck switch for more than 40 seconds.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Clear all RCM DTCs
3. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool read: 9042-LEFT READING LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT STUCK-RCM?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
2. CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE PUSH BUTTONS
1. Visually inspect the reading lamp button for sticking or blockage.
2. Switch the buttons on and off several times.
Are the reading lamp buttons stuck or blocked?
Yes
- Replace the applicable button/switch assembly.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
No
- Go To 3
3. ROOF CONTROL MODULE
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool erase and record RCM DTCs.
Is code 9042-LEFT READING LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT STUCK-RCM still current?
Yes
- Replace the Roof Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
No
- Test Complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
