Switch Bank Module
9031-RIGHT SEAT HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE

- When Monitored:
Ignition on, during the heated seat operation.
- Set Condition:
This code is set when the Switch Bank Module (SBM) detects an over current condition on the heated seat driver circuit.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
3. Operate the Heated Seat Switch several times.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display active DTC 9031-RIGHT SEAT HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
2. SEAT HEATER ELEMENT
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the seat heater connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
5. Operate the Heated Seat Switch several times.
6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display active DTC 9031-RIGHT SEAT HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Repair/replace the pigtail/heating element as necessary for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
3. RIGHT HEATED SEAT DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Switch Bank Module C1 harness connector.
3. Measure the resistance between ground and the Right Heated Seat Driver circuit at the SBM harness connector.
Is the resistance above 10K ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Switch Bank Module (SBM).
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
No
- Repair the Right Heated Seat Driver circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
