Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC)
9031-SEAT BELT BUCKLE CENTER SWITCH CONNECTOR FAULT
For a complete wiring diagram, Refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams.
Theory of Operation
When powered, the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) sends a test current to the Seat Belt Buckle Center Switch circuit to verify the integrity of the switch and wiring. Use of the ORC adapter tool to provide a test point as well as a method for opening the shorting bar connections within the ORC harness connector.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
- Set Condition:
This DTC will set if the module detects a connection failure at the Seat Belt Buckle Center Switch or Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) connectors terminals related to the Seat Belt Buckle Center Switch. This code may occur in combination with other active DTCs.
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Restraints System Pre-Diagnostic Procedure.
1. VERIFY OTHER ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)
NOTE: Make sure the battery is fully charged.
1. Turn the ignition ON.
2. Using the scan tool, perform a ORC reset.
3. Using the scan tool, read the active ORC DTC.
4. Look for active open or short DTCs in the ORC
