Driver Door Module (DDM)






9007-PASSENGER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH

For a complete wiring diagram, Refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams.

- When Monitored:
Whenever the module is awake.

- Set Condition:
When the DDM senses no current flow through the module internal driver when the passenger door is opened, this code will set.





1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
3. Open and close the passenger door.
4. Wait 30 seconds.
5. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display 9006-PASSENGER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.

2. PASSENGER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP
1. Disconnect the Passenger Entry/Exit Lamp connector.
2. Connect a 12-volt test light between the Passenger Entry/Exit Lamp Driver circuit and the Passenger Entry/Exit Lamp Ground circuit in connector.
3. Open the passenger door while observing the test light.

Did the test light illuminate brightly when the door was opened?

Yes

- Replace the Passenger Entry/Exit Lamp.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.

No

- Go To 3

3. PASSENGER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Driver Door Module C1 connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. Measure the voltage between ground and the Passenger Entrance/Exit Lamp Driver circuit in the DDM C1 connector.

Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Repair the Passenger Entrance/Exit Lamp Driver circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.

No

- Go To 4

4. PASSENGER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Measure the resistance of the Passenger Entrance/Exit Lamp Driver circuit between the Lamp connector and the DDM C1 connector.

Is the resistance below 3.0 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 5

No

- Repair the Passenger Entry/Exit Lamp Driver circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.

5. PASSENGER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Ensure all lights are off.
2. Measure the resistance between ground and Passenger Entrance/Exit Lamp Ground circuit.

Is the resistance below 10.0 ohms?

No

- Repair the Passenger Entrance/Exit Lamp Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.

Yes

- Replace the Driver Door Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.
