D131-ERROR: SYSTEM CAN NOT BE TRAINED, TOO LITTLE RADIO ELECTRONIC AVAILABLE

- When Monitored:
With the engine running. Vehicle speed greater than 16 km/h (10 mph).
- Set Condition:
Incorrect TPM Sensor(s) or incorrect ID locations programmed in the TPM Module.
1. DTC STATUS
NOTE: All communication faults must be diagnosed before continue.
1. Ignition on, engine not running.
2. Using the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Go To 5
2. TPM SYSTEM
1. Inspect and review the vehicle for the following:
- Review the vehicle repair history. The incorrect tire pressure sensor will set this DTC.
- Inspect for aftermarket rims that do not have Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor installed or that would not allow correct transmission of the sensor.
- Check the vehicle for aftermarket accessories that could compromise the RF frequency signal before diagnosing the TPM system.
Were any of the conditions found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST. TPM Verification Test
No
- Go To 3
3. TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING (TPM) SENSOR(S)
1. Using the TPM-RKE Analyzer, test each of the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensors.
Did all the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensors pass?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Replace the Tire Pressure sensor that failed.
- Perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST. TPM Verification Test.
4. TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING (TPM) SENSOR ID LOCATIONS
1. Using the TPM-RKE Analyzer, program the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor IDs to the correct wheel locations.
Are the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensors IDs in the correct wheel locations?
Yes
- Replace the TPM Module.
- Perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST. TPM Verification Test.
No
- Use the TPM-RKE Analyzer, to program the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor IDs to the correct wheel locations.
- Perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST. TPM Verification Test.
5. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
NOTE: Check for any of the follow conditions:
- Poor wire to terminal connection
- Corroded terminals
- Backed out or loose terminals
- Broken wire internal to the insulation
- Dirty (partial) module ground
Were any of the above condition present?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST. TPM Verification Test.
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time.
