DESCRIPTION

A single washer fluid reservoir (2) is used for the standard equipment front as well as the optional headlamp and rear washer systems. The molded plastic washer fluid reservoir is mounted on the left side of the engine compartment, directly over the top of the left frame rail. The reservoir filler neck is accessed from the left front corner of the engine compartment near the upper radiator crossmember. A blue molded plastic filler cap (1) with an integral retainer ring and tether strap identified with a molded International Control and Display Symbol icon for Windshield Washer snaps over the open end of the reservoir filler neck. The cap hinges on the tether strap and the retainer ring is installed over the reservoir filler neck beneath the cap.

There are separate, dedicated holes in the reservoir provided for the three standard and optional washer pump/motor units and the washer fluid level switch. The unused optional holes are fitted with removable plugs. The outboard side of the washer reservoir has an integral mounting flange with two mounting holes that are secured to a bracket welded onto the top of the left front fender inner wheel house by two screws.

The washer reservoir cannot be repaired and, if ineffective or damaged, it must be replaced. The washer reservoir, the rubber grommet seals for the washer pump/motor units, and the filler cap are each available for individual service replacement.
