License Plate Lamp Bulb - Removal

NOTE: This procedure is for passenger and cargo vans only. On cab and chassis vehicles the license plate lamp is integral to the left or right rear lamp unit.





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Reach under the molded plastic cover over the license plate tub formation in the lower left rear door outer panel to access the license plate lamp (1).
3. Insert a trim stick or another suitable wide flat-bladed tool into the slot (2) on one side of the lamp lens (3) and carefully pry the lens downward out of the lamp.
4. Firmly grasp and pull the bulb straight out of the socket within the lamp housing.
