Parking Brake Cable: Adjustments

ADJUSTMENT - PARKING BRAKE CABLES





LOOSEN ADJUSTMENT

1. Release the load on the parking brake cables (4) at the adjuster nut (5).
2. Push the cable adjuster (2) all the way in direction of travel to loosen.

TIGHTEN ADJUSTMENT

1. Adjust the rear park brake shoes
2. Actuate the hand brake lever several times with moderate force, then release and actuate to second notch. Tighten the adjusting nut (5) of the cable adjuster (3) until the rear wheels can just be turned by hand.
3. Actuate and release the park brake lever 3 times. The rear wheels must turn freely and without grinding the brake. If the rear wheels do not turn freely, the adjustment must be repeated.
