B19E0-LEFT SLIDING DOOR HANDLE SWITCH CIRCUIT STUCK - DMLR

- When Monitored:
Whenever the Left Rear Door Module is awake

- Set Condition:
The Left Rear Door Module has detected the Left Door In/Out Handle Switch Sense circuit voltage is below 3.2 volts for over 30 seconds.





Diagnostic Test

1. CHECK FOR DTCS
With the scan tool, record DTC's and any power sliding door inhibitors.
Erase the DTCs.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Attempt to operate the Left Power Sliding Door from the door handle.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Check the outside handle and the inside push button for an intermittent sticking condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

2. CHECK THE LEFT DOOR IN/OUT HANDLE FOR STICKING.
Check the outside handle and then the inside handle for sticking.
Is there a sticking problem?

No

- Go To 3

Yes

- Repair the sticking handle if possible. If a cable is sticking, replace the latch assembly.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

3. CHECK THE (Q55) LEFT DOOR IN/OUT HANDLE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND.




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Left Rear Door Module C2 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (Q55) Left Door In/Out Handle Switch Sense.

NOTE: Be careful not to spread the terminals in the connector.

Is the resistance below 10,000.0 ohms?

No

- Go To 4

Yes

- Repair the (Q55) Left Sliding Door Release Handle circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

4. CHECK THE (Q55) LEFT DOOR IN/OUT HANDLE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (Q781) LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR MUX RETURN CIRCUIT.




Measure the resistance between the (Q55) Left Door In/Out Handle Switch Sense circuit and the (Q781) Left Power Sliding Door Mux Return circuit in the Door Module C2 connector.

NOTE: Be careful not to spread the terminals in the connector.

Is the resistance below 10,000.0 (10k) ohms?

No

- Replace the Left Rear Door Latch Assembly.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

Yes

- Repair the (Q55) Left Door In/Out Handle Switch Sense circuit for a short to the (Q781) Left Power Sliding Door Mux Return circuit.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
