Wiper Module - Removal
REMOVAL
WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury during and following any front wiper system service, be certain that the key is removed from the ignition lock. When the multi-function switch is set to the I (INTERMITTENT or AUTOMATIC) position, the front wipers could move unexpectedly at any time causing injury or damage.
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove both front wiper arms from the wiper pivots. .
3. Open the hood and remove the engine air filter housing from the engine compartment.
4. Remove the screw (4) that secures the wiper motor isolator bracket (5) to the cowl top panel bracket.
5. Remove the nut (1), washer (2) and rubber pad (3) that secures each wiper pivot housing to the outside of the cowl top panel.
6. Lower and rotate the front wiper module from the underside of the cowl top panel far enough to access and disconnect the vehicle wire harness connector from the bottom of the wiper motor (6).
7. Remove the front wiper module from the vehicle as a unit.
