Installation

INSTALLATION

WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the supplemental restraint system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt tensioner, impact sensor, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the supplemental restraint system. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment.

NOTE: Before reinstalling a removed rain/light sensor or installing a new sensor, clean the windshield of any silicone residue if necessary. Use Mopar(R) Gasket Remover or a suitable equivalent. Also, remove protective foil from a new rain/light sensor if necessary.

1. Position the rain/light sensor (3) to the center of the mounting bracket (1) on the inside of the windshield below the inside rear view mirror.
2. Engage the retaining clamp on the sensor with the mounting bracket.
3. Reconnect the wire harness connector (2) to the sensor.
4. Align and snap the trim cover (4) over the sensor.
5. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
