Cruise Control Constantly Actuated-Speed Increase (PSM)







9502-CRUISE CONTROL CONSTANTLY ACTUATED-SPEED INCREASE (PSM)

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
If the Cruise Control pushbutton stays actuated for more than a predetermined value of time.





Diagnostic Test

1. VERIFY THAT THE DTC IS STILL ACTIVE
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, erase SCM DTCs.
Actuate the Cruise Control several times.
Turn the ignition off.
Turn the ignition on, wait 5 seconds.
With the scan tool, read PSM DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Go to 2

No

- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

2. INSPECT FOR AN OBJECT HOLDING CRUISE CONTROL PUSHBUTTON IN ACTUATED POSITION
Inspect the Cruise Control pushbutton for anything that would cause the Cruise Control pushbutton to stay actuated.
Is anything present that would cause the Cruise Control pushbutton to stay actuated?

Yes

- Repair as necessary.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Go To 3

3. INSPECT THE CRUISE CONTROL PUSHBUTTON FOR DAMAGE
Inspect the Cruise Control pushbutton for damage.
Is the Cruise Control pushbutton damaged?

Yes

- Replace the Cruise Control pushbutton.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Test complete.
