9304-REAR HEATER CONTROL VALVE CONTROL CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE

- When Monitored:
With the Ignition Switch in the on position and the A/C Heater Control is awake.

- Set Condition:
This code will set when the Rear Heater Control Valve Control circuit is open or shorted to voltage.





Diagnostic Test

1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, record and erase all HVAC DTC's.
Operate the HVAC system.
Wait 30 seconds.
With the scan tool, read all HVAC DTC's.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Verification Tests

2. REAR HEATER CONTROL VALVE CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the A/C Heater Control harness connectors.
Disconnect the Rear Heater Control Valve harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the Rear Heater Control Valve Control circuit.
Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Repair the Rear Heater Control Valve Control circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Go to 3

3. REAR HEATER CONTROL VALVE CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the Rear Heater Control Valve Control circuit.
Does the ohm meter read open circuit?

Yes

- Repair the Rear Heater Control Valve Control circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Go To 4

4. REAR HEATER CONTROL VALVE GROUND CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage Rear Heater Control Valve Ground circuit.
Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Repair the Rear Heater Control Valve Ground circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Go to 5

5. REAR HEATER CONTROL VALVE GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the Rear Heater Control Valve Ground circuit
Does the ohm meter read open circuit?

Yes

- Repair the Rear Heater Control Valve Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Replace the A/C Heater Control.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Verification Tests
